Learning Pods and Micro Schools are an important educational alternative for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond.

Data collected in a study by Understanding America Study (UAS) from April-May this year found 45% of parents believe child/family are safer with remote learning, 30% said child wants to remain remote learning, and 28% don’t trust schools will keep their child safe.

Types of Pod Options

Private Small In-Home

Teachers2U provides a certified teacher to come into the home(s) of close-knit group(s) of children three, four, or five days a week. Teachers will oversee and assist with virtual assignments set forth by the district or homeschool curriculum: facilitate SEL(Social-Emotional Learning); lead arts/crafts, games, STEM activities, snack/lunch, and recess time. Your program can be tailored to accommodate your group’s particular ages, needs and interests, allowing children to play and learn alongside friends and family with whom they are most comfortable. Before and after care can be provided.

Community-Based: Public

Micro schools will be held outside of the home at public locations.  Different locations will offer different types of programs: an indoor Micro School, an outdoor Forest School, and a Montessori-inspired preschool program.

Students will be in age-appropriate groups: 3-5 years-old, K-2nd grade, 3rd - 5th grade. All Micro Schools will use state standard curriculum provided by either the school district, charter school, or home school model.

Workplace: Employee Exclusive

Innovative businesses that want to solve the two major workplace dilemmas post-pandemic: attracting and keeping reliable employees at every level will provide this unique and timely solution.

The Teachers2U provider does all the registration, tuition billing, classroom instruction and coordinating and collaborating the key personnel. A certified teacher is provided to each age group up to 20 students along with a teachers aides.

Benefits

Ditch the overwhelm, tears and frustration!

The benefits of a teacher-led learning pod depends on the type of environment you choose. Generally, pods seem like a way to both prioritize safety and engage in much-needed in-person learning with more hands-on personalized support along with being able to remain in a community.

The program is designed to support the students, teachers, and families through the school year.  While the students will be learning along with the district provided curriculum or the customized curriculum unique to the Pod, the one on one attention they will be getting from the teacher will support them in the educational process. The teachers will be able to meet each student's individual needs. They may need to be progressed in some areas and supported in others, but with a small group setting the teacher will be able to do just that.

Teachers receive a stipend from the Teachers2U provider to spend on their classroom. This money can be used to support the students in whatever the teacher feels necessary.

The teachers in the program are all certified, have passed criminal and child abuse background checks, CPR/First Aid, and will receive ongoing training.  Before the school year starts they will have trauma informed training to both support the well-being of the staff and prepare them to help students cope with the new world that we are living in. They are also supported by our management staff. The Family will be supported with weekly updates on your child's progress and things you all can do together outside of school to help facilitate learning and connectedness.

WORKPLACE PODS

Providing this option to employees and even sharing in the cost is one the best investments and benefits an employer can do post-pandemic. Keeping and attracting great employees is both time consuming and expensive. With childcare increasingly difficult for families to rely on with varying work schedules and the education difficulties and ongoing uncertainty having reliable, engaging education for your employees will help ensure you attract and keep the best employees on all levels.

PRIVATE SMALL IN-HOME PODS

For the in-home pods, which were the most popular during the height of the coronavirus pandemic when schools were on hybrid or all remote learning, the primary benefit is having other families from your neighborhood, who you typically know, kids are same age and often friends. This creates a close friendly community that often feels safe, strengthens social and emotional connection which enhances learning.

COMMUNITY-BASED MICRO SCHOOLS

Micro schools will be held outside of the home at public locations.  Different locations will offer different types of programs: an indoor Micro School, an outdoor Forest School, and a Montessori-inspired preschool program.

Students will be in age-appropriate groups: 3-5 years-old, K-2nd grade, 3rd - 5th grade. All Micro Schools will use state standard curriculum provided by either the school district, charter school, or home school model.
